The anime Death Note is about a high school student named Light who becomes the owner of a supernatural notebook, the titular Death Note. The notebook grants its user the power to kill anyone whose name. Also, face they know by writing their name in the notebook while picturing their face.

It was serialized in Shueisha’s manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from December 2003 to May 2006. The series has been adapted into live-action films, animated television show film adaptations, video games, novels, and other merchandising.

A three-volume animated film adaptation was released in Japan in 2006. It was directed by Tetsurō Araki and written by Tsugumi Ohba. And series’ authors are Fujio Akatsuka, Shinta Fukuchi, Norihiro Yagi, and Takehiko Itō.

The Story Of Death Note Explained

Light Yagami is a genius high school student who is about to graduate from his school in Japan. To become a successful detective, he decides to take his training one step further. And gain a few abilities that can be gained through the use of a Death Note.

A Shinigami named Ryuk drops his Death Note in the human world for Light to find. And once Light finds it he decides that he will use it to rid the world of criminals and create a utopia where there are no criminals left.

He finds out through the notebook that every individual who has ownership of the notebook also possess a lifespan. Which can be found next to their name whenever they are written in it.

As Light uses the Death Note he finds out a way to suppress his name and lifespan thus making it seem as though he is immortal. But as he tries to rid the world of criminals through any means necessary! A mysterious killer begins to kill off criminals by mimicking the method used in the Note.

Important Characters

The series was adapted into a live-action film in 2006. The film was directed by Shusuke Kaneko and written by Tsugio Kujiraoka. Based on the original manga series by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The film stars Tatsuya Fujiwara as Light and Masataka Kubota as Light’s father Soichiro Yagami. Kana Hashimoto plays the female lead Mia, while Misa Shimizu plays the second female lead L.

The most famous characters include Light Yagami a high school student who is about to graduate from his school in Japan. To become a successful detective, he decides to take his training one step further.

The ending of the death note explained:

Ryuk licks the last of the pills into Light’s mouth, and then there is a flash of light. The second ending explains, “Nothing is certain, but I think that when this world ends and a new one begins, perhaps not even there will be life. The rules are different, so it might not be possible to use this notebook again.”

Anime News Network gave a review of the film with a score of 3 out of 5 stars.

Critical reception for Death Note 2 has been mixed to positive with an aggregate score of 60% at Rotten Tomatoes based on 29 reviews. It was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars.
